More than the word “Tribulus” on a label
Tribestan® is an established brand in Sopharma’s consumer-health portfolio. Official product information describes Tribestan as being obtained from the aerial part of Tribulus terrestris L. and containing predominantly furostanol-type steroidal saponins.
Each film-coated tablet contains 250 mg of dry extract. A published clinical trial of the specific Tribestan product describes a 35–45:1 extract standardized to not less than 112.5 mg of furostanol saponins per tablet.
Tribulus terrestris in Bulgaria: “Babini Zabi”
Tribulus terrestris L. is the plant known in Bulgaria as Babini Zabi. With Tribestan, the relevant details go beyond the botanical word “Tribulus”: the specific finished product, plant material, extract specification and manufacturer all matter.

TRIBESTAN® VS GENERIC TRIBULUS
The plant name does not describe the whole product
Two products can both contain Tribulus terrestris without being identical. When comparing products, look at the specific manufacturer, plant part, amount of dry extract, extract specification, tablet count and documentation for the finished product.
Bulgarian manufacturing & pharmaceutical heritage
Sopharma lists Tribestan among its strategic consumer-health brands. The company also identifies its Kazanlak manufacturing site as supplying active ingredients for flagship products including Tribestan. In its 2024 reporting, Sopharma also reported an approved ASMF for Tribulus terrestris dry extract for Tribestan 250 mg film-coated tablets.
What does published research tell us?
Published clinical research exists on Tribestan/Tribulus terrestris. For example, a 2017 randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial enrolled 180 men and used Sopharma’s Tribestan®. Its findings apply to the studied population and regimen and should not be interpreted as a universal guarantee of results.
